It's been 20 years since the simultaneous Live Aid concerts in London and Philadelphia were launched to help provide famine relief for Africa. That effort raised over $100 million. Now, Bob Geldof, founder of Live Aid, has created Live 8, five simultaneous concerts on July 2, 2005. These concerts are designed to raise awareness of global poverty and pressure the G8, the world's wealthiest countries, to contribute resources to end poverty as we know it. A star-studded list of performers will participate in concerts in Berlin, London, Paris, Philadelphia and Rome.

Check the details in your guide to Live 8.
