Remember Baby, Ginger, Posh, Scary, and Sporty...or should we say Victoria Beckham, Mel Brown, Emma Bunton, Mel Chisholm, and Geri Halliwell? Either way you put them together, it's the Spice Girls, one of the top British pop phenonmenons of the 90's. It looked like we were once again going to be treated to some spicy pop as last week the producers of the upcoming Live 8 concerts announced they were negotiating with the 5 to reunite onstage as part of the event.
Then came the announcement of the concert lineups this past Monday and the Spice Girls were missing. The reason for the Spice Girls being axed was reportedly because their music did not "fit in" with the political theme of the event. Britain's Daily Mirror reported "The girls are spitting with rage at this slur." But...it appears all is not lost as Coldplay's lead vocalist Chris Martin has reportedly stepped in to express his support for the Spice Girl reunion. Will they...or won't they...check back for the latest from SpiceWorld.
