Songwriters often are ignored by the ordinary pop music fan. Fortunately, the Songwriters Hall Of Fame recognizes the indispensable contributions of songwriters to popular music. On June 9th, 7 new members were inducted. John Fogerty (at right), leader and primary songwriter for the band Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Steve Cropper, guitarist and songwriter for many Memphis Soul classics, led the way.
