Wednesday December 21, 2005

During the holiday season, Mediaguide, an industry monitor of music broadcast over the radio, publishes weekly lists of the holiday songs most played on the radio. Here is the list for last week. The songs are ranked by combining all versions of the song that have been played. I have provided links to hear a clip from a version by a prominent pop artist:

  1. Sleigh Ride

    Listen to Clay Aiken
    (from Merry Christmas With Love)

  2. Winter Wonderland

    Listen to Eurythmics
    (from A Very Special Christmas)

  3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

    Listen to Amy Grant
    (from Home for Christmas)

  4. The Christmas Song

    (from A Motown Christmas Carol)

  5. Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

    Listen to Bruce Springsteen
    (from
Now That's What I Call Christmas!)

  6. White Christmas

    Listen to Beach Boys
(from Christmas With the Beach Boys)

  7. Jingle Bell Rock
