Last month Mutya Buena, age 20, announced she was leaving the Sugababes, the British female pop trio she had been part of since age 13. Just a day later the group's management announced her replacement. Amelle Berrabah (on the right in the photo) is of Moroccan descent and was performing in a pop duo with her sister. She is a self-proclaimed Sugababes fan and says she grew up with the group.
Keisha Buchanan is the only remaining founding member of the group. Heidi Range, the 3rd member of the trio, replaced Siobhan Donaghy in 2001. Amelle Berrabah's voice will first be heard on the group's next single, a re-recorded version of "Red Dress" from the album Taller in More Ways. The group plans to tour in the spring.
