Weekly Pop Music Blog Roundup - March 4, 2006
The sun is shining and it looks like spring is on its way! So much for small talk..let's get into this week's words of wisdom from the blogosphere:
Before heading into my American Idol fixation this week, I did want to mention coverage of a news item and a music phenomenon:
- Item: Many of us have long seen Spin as Rolling Stone's irrepressible cousin. However, it is hard to know what the future will bring for the magazine. Following sale of the publication, Gawker reported that heads are starting to roll.
- Phenomenon: The About Top 40 profile of Matisyahu went up last weekend and the buzz just keeps growing louder. Head on over to 3 Quarks Daily for a satisfyingly erudite discussion of the Matisyahu phenomenon.
And then there's Idol:
- Long Plastic Hallway gave us 10 Reasons Why I Still Watch American Idol - Somehow, Simon's hair wouldn't be first on my list
- Political-legal blogger Ann Althouse still provides some of the best, if a wee bit snarky, commentary on both the girls and the guys
And the American Idol confessions:
- EZ On the Eyes - Confessions of an American Idol Viewer
- Arguing With Signposts - Confession Time
- FilteringCraig admitting he has an American Idol obsession like the rest of us, and he has serious reflections on crooning
- Echofaith - Succumbing to the lure - except someone let him know this is season 5, it only feels like season 6!
That's it for this week - catch Fall Out Boy tonight on Saturday Night Live.

Oops! Thanks I’ll correct that. It certainly does feel like it’s been 6. =)
