Report: Avril Lavigne and Sum 41's Deryck Whibley Will Marry Soon

Canadian entertainment journalists are buzzing with the news that Canadian pop-rock sweethearts Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley, of the band Sum 41, have moved up their wedding date. According to reports, the couple will not marry August 26, 2006 as originally planned. Instead, in order to avoid as much media interference as possible, Lavigne and Whibley have advised friends and family to make immediate travel plans to help the couple celebrate their nuptials.

The couple's engagement was first reported in June, 2005. This is not the first time the pair have attempted to throw the media off their path. False reports of the couple's engagement emerged in September, 2004 in a deliberate effort to show how entertainment media could be misled. Time will tell if this is yet another hoax.
