Speaking of Videos...Janet Jackson's "Call On Me"

I've watched it...and you can if you head on over to AOL Music. I'm not exactly sure what to think. "Call On Me" seems to have peaked on the pop singles chart at a mere #70, and my best guess is that this photoshoot of surreal clothing with a barechested Nelly isn't really going to help. Janet fans...help us with what is up here....

The single is also doing every well on the charts, Janet’s “Call On Me” made a huge jump from #63 up to #25 on the Billboard Hot 100! Janet is also #14 on the Billboard R&B/HipHop Singles Charts. BET has been giving Janet much airtime and respect unlike MTV.

Thanks for the comments Tre. She has made a big move on the Billboard pop 100 (up to #33) as well, as mentioned in my new chart report. It’s her first top 40 pop single in Billboard now in 5 years – a good return, but she still has a long way to go the top 10.
She’ll be fine. I’m not worried too much about her making the Top 10 with this one. So Excited will be the second single and THAT will be the come back single. In my opinion, Call On Me is just a fluffer to get her name back out there until a hot single and album drops. I’m waiting for 20 Years Old breathlessly!

Unfortanely, janet has been on some sort of punsihment with the a certain color media. I read your profile on the top pop divas and was very suprised to see Beyonce on the top. That must be and opinion and not fact by sales, and popularity.
As you know MTV has banned janet, and she has still managed to make it to the top 40, not to mention the video will make it a top ten hit, all done without the support of MTV. MTv’s first icon.
SO, Bill, Janet still matters, she was the number 1 internet search for 2004 superbowl scandal and 2005 false baby scandal. 2006 highest cover on US weekly magazine outselling Ben and Jen. and on BET acess granted there highest number ever. The woman is a powerhouse within herself, she brings rating, and yes things are slow without MTV. But im sure once she appears on OPrah the day her album debut, she will sell over a half million copies the first week.
MTv has went as far as to erease post concering Janet from off the message board, they support Justin, but not Janet, janet has inspired, beyonce, ashaniti, the late alliayah, mya, cassie, brintey, jecessica, and list goes on. The bottom Line is Janet star power has not died, and what method did you use to but beyonce who is one beautifull woman on the top of janet and madonna and mariiah. what a joke,
