The Night of Superstars aka The Grammy Awards

With today's announcement that Corinne Bailey Rae, John Mayer, and John Legend would perform together as a unit the evening of February 11th at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards celebration, the star power of the event inched up even higher. However, it's not like much was lacking before the news.

In recent years the Grammy Awards has turned into an event that is as much about the performances as it is about the awards. Among the performers already announced are Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, the Dixie Chicks, Gnarls Barkley, Ludacris, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake, and Carrie Underwood.
