The Concert for Diana Will Present a Powerful Lineup of Top Pop Musicians

On July 1, 2007, the UK's Princes William and Harry will present a concert event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of their mother, Princess Diana, and celebrate her life and what would have been her 46th birthday. According to Prince William:
"We wanted to have this big concert...full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted. And on her birthday as well, it's got to be the best birthday present she ever had."
The concert will be one of the first events held at the recently renovated Wembley Stadium in London. The show will be broadcast to millions of viewers in over 140 countries. Proceeds from the concert will go to charities supported by Princess Diana and charities of which the Princes are patrons. The BBC will broadcast live from the event.
The artists who will perform were chosen based upon the musical preferences of Princess Diana as well as Princes William and Harry. Among the artists scheduled to perform:
- Lily Allen
- Natasha Bedingfield
