Lollapalooza 2007 - Day 3
For the 3rd and final day of Lollapalooza 2007, Chicago summer weather seemed intent on making itself known. Thunderstorms from the night before yielded a muddy Grant Park and steamy, humid air hovered in the range of 90 degrees. That didn't stop the crowds gathering to hear one of 2007's hottest new artists Amy Winehouse (at right) deliver music from her debut album Back to Black and provide a brief homage to Lauryn Hill.
Later in the afternoon Winehouse's fellow UK newcomer and concert mate Paolo Nutini took the stage followed by the legendary Iggy Pop (at left) and his band the Stooges. Although security seemed less than pleased, Iggy successfully brought over 100 fans onstage and they then exited uneventfully as the summertime revelry of Lollapalooza continued.
The third year of Lollapalooza in Chicago wound down with a rousing performance by 90's favorites Pearl Jam. Lead vocalist Eddie Vedder (at right) protested the Iraq War standing side by side with a war veteran. With fireworks and a huge crowd, it's time to say goodnight and goodbye to Grant Park on the Chicago lakefront until next year. Lollapalooza is scheduled to continue each summer through at least 2011.
