Introducing Tokio Hotel
Any serious American pop music fan is already well acquainted with Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance. However, how much do you know about MTV Europe's 5th nominee for Band of the Year, Tokio Hotel? They are the biggest pop-rock artist to come out of Germany in 20 years. The band has sold nearly 3 million CDs at home including 2 #1 albums and 4 #1 singles. In addition, they've sold another 3 million in the rest of Europe. Tokio Hotel has reached the top 10 of the pop singles chart in Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, and the Netherlands. Now they are coming to America!
To my ears, Tokio Hotel's "Scream" is reminiscent of Linkin Park. The band released an EP earlier this month that sells exclusively through Hot Topic stores. Hmm, it’s hard to tell how they will go. Scream is a bit Linkin Park like, but overall they are not. Their music is not the best in the world but they made huge progress with their second album. Two years ago they were kind of teens for teens band and hysteria in Germany and now in Europe is massive, but i can’t really call them boy band thought their fan base would suggest so. I’d be glad they keep improving and once the screaming disappears we ‘old and wise’ ones might even realize boys are quite alright musicians.

But I agree that a recent photo would be much better.
I discovered Tokio Hotel earlier this year while I was poking around on the internet. I LOVE their music. I’ve even started taking German in school to better understand the German lyrics. I think the German songs are better than the English ones, but that’s to be expected. I think they’ll be successful yes, but I’m not sure how successful. The lyrics don’t flow as well as people from the US are used to, because they’re translated lyrics. I guess we will all find out when their CD comes out in the US in the spring.

I just discovered them a few weeks ago and I love their music. The German versions are much better and the lyrics are great. Bill does make me a bit uncomfortable w/ his incredible beauty but you can’t deny he sings with a depth of emotion and passion which comes across better in the German songs.
I’m from the US and I love Tokio Hotel. I found them on accident on the internet and loved Bill at first and thought the music was OK. But after listening to the music more and reading the lyrics, I have grown to love it. I own their 2nd albumn and you should too!

Thanks to the “www” I found these guys last week and they are great! I started humming their songs after only 1 listening. A true pop rock song is one that is catchy and sticks in your head. I must say that they have mastered that!

i just found out about them when they won interact at the mtveurope awards…cant stop catching up on everything (music , videos, interviews)and bought all their cds…they are much more than just a teen pop group…wiser beyond their years in their lyrics but still with the naivete of kids in a candy store xxxxxx love themxxxxx hope they come to america

omg i love tokio hotel, they are the best band ever, i own their new English u.s. CD and their songs are just great. Started liking them in early ‘08 and now i am like in love with them!, always have to keep up. They Where great back 7 years ago when first started as Devilish and still going strong now. All of them have become so much hotter over time( Bill & Tom declaired sex simbols) They have practicaly won every award in Germany.. they are the BEST in the whole wide world. dude,they’re the next biggest thing to hit the states.I’ve been a fan since early August ‘07 and I must say I’ve never been this big of a fan for any other band for this long!I’m proud to be a TH fan and proud to know that thse four boys are making it this successful in America,because I must admitt some of the fans worried alittle before they came over.

yh they r pretty gd but at 1st i thought the lead vocals was a girl and he sounds a bit high-pitched in some of their earlier songs but who cares they r still gd
i absolutely love tokio hotel i just discovered them like a motnh ago and am totally in luv with them all of their songs rock and anyone who thinks otherwise can piss off
it takes major skill to come from another country learn english and then rerecord ur songs and then have people like it in america that takes skills
