Plain White T's Singer Tom Higgenson Finally Gets to Date Delilah...at the Grammys

It has been over 5 years since Plain White T's lead vocalist Tom Higgenson was first introduced to Delilah DiCrescenzo. A year later he wrote a song about his resulting crush. The song, "Hey There Delilah," turned into a #1 smash hit for the band and has been nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group at this year's Grammy Awards. Despite all of the attention for the song, Tom and Delilah still do not know each other well.
When the award nominations were announced, Higgenson called and left a voice mail for DiCrescenzo. She found out online that he wanted to invite her to the awards ceremony. She has since accepted, and the noteworthy couple will have their first date February 10, 2008, at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles where they will find out if the song about their imagined relationship is a winner. Delilah DiCrescenzo is a 2008 Olympic hopeful in track and field.
Tom Higgenson says about the date, "It's kind of weird, because we still don't really know each other. I don't think it'll be awkward, but it'll be interesting. I've never been on a date that has been this high-profile."
