Gnarls Barkley Pass the Harding Test On Video for "Run"

Friday February 29, 2008

It's candy-colored and the duo of Cee-Lo and producer Danger Mouse are the usual Odd Couple (the title of their upcoming album) in the opening of the pair's video for the new single "Run." However, with about a minute to go the screen is flooded with black and white patterns projecting the surrealism the duo are known for in their videos. Initially, rumors indicated that MTV would avoid broadcasting the video due to concerns for inducing epileptic seizures in those watching the patterns on the screen. However, a spokesperson for Gnarls Barkley released the statement, "Initially, there were fears the video was going to fail the Harding Test, but, for the moment, indications lead us to believe the video passed."

The video is directed by the filmmaking team Happy consisting of Guy Shelmerdane and Richard Farmer. Check it out below.
