American Idol: The Strongest Final 3 Yet?

Thursday May 8, 2008

As Jason Castro was eliminated last night on American Idol, it became evident that 3 very strong singers were remaining in competition for this year's title of the American Idol. All 3 represent significantly different approaches and genres of pop music as well. David Archuleta delivers sweet, adult conemporary oriented pop with ease, but he also can add significant poignance to some of the most powerful mainstream pop ballads of all time. David Cook, on the other hand, leans heavily on an affinity for rock, but he has also proven he can drop the raspy voice to stand toe to toe on Broadway music from Andrew Lloyd Webber. Syesha Mercado hit her stride with the night of show tunes, but she has also been adept at adding some real r&b grit to the competition.

Is this the strongest final 3 yet in 7 seasons of American Idol. Watch all 3 of these talented singers below, and let us know your comments.

David Cook’s version of Billy Jean was absolutely phenomenal! He took a Michael Jackson classic and made it completely his own and sang it with so much passion. For me, the best performance of the season!
