I disagree that this album is only for Clay fans. Anyone who enjoyed pop music back when it still had interesting melodies and meaningful lyrics will love this collection of songs. Please don’t let the critics dictate what you should and shouldn’t like, and listen to some of the songs on Clay’s MySpace. http://www.myspace.com/clayaiken

I agree. This album has something for everyone. Besides ballads, there are jazzy pop, uptempo songs, romantic songs, a (could be)country crossover song…even a religious song.
So refreshing from most of what is out there.
Ashes, Everything I Don’t Need, and Falling, are among my favorites.

Bill, thanks – this was fair. But I think anyone who listens will become a fan. There is something for everyone. And Clay’s fabulous voice just shines–it richer, more silky, smoother, sexier than before. Baby is growing up! And I can let him forego the pop teeny popper stuff anyday. This is great stuff–like a bottle of fine wine — to be savored. Listen in a quiet room with earphones to every beautiful nuance of this man’s voice. Pure heaven.

Thanks Bill, I’ve been hoping for a review from you, whether good or bad, I wanted to hear your opinion of this album.I remember your review of ATDW,and was crossing my fingers on this one.:-)
I didn’t read that you said the album is ‘for only Clay fans,’, so I have to disagree with Jenny above.
You seem to be a very well rounded music critic, and I think you have gotten it right with Clays albums so far.
Great job!!
YES, this IS the album we Clay fans, have been waiting for, and hopefully some other music lovers will give this album a spin, and enjoy it too.

I agree with the others…this is a great cd with a little something for everyone…that is UNLESS you are looking for “crotch” shots and vulgar, meaningless lyrics…

Congrats to Clay and his team for another lovely cd.
