New Kids on the Block Are Back With "Summertime," First Hit in 14 Years

It has been 14 years since the last new release from New Kids on the Block, the standard bearers of boy bands of the early 90's. The group sold over 70 million albums worldwide. It looks like pop fans may be eager to welcome them back. The new single "Summertime" is one of the top added songs at pop radio giving it the opportunity to show up on this week's Top 10 Hot Pop Songs chart.
New Kids on the Block are also plotting a concert tour in advance of the fall 2008 release of a new album. Check out "Summertime" below.

I have to say I am very happy to see the guys back in top form and sounding terrific. I loved them when I was 12 and still do at 32. They have great talent and I am glad to see them performing again. I hope to catch them in concert. Hopefully they will have a concert near me because I am there and can’t wait. Congrats guys on your long awaited return. xoxo

I have been a fan of NKOTB since 1988. Their music from the past came from another man, Maurice Starr. This time around, NKOTB are the ones calling the shots and I am enjoying every minute, every second of their power. They’re doing this reunion for the music and the fans. I’m sure they don’t expect to stay together forever. It is evident that they are just doing this to have fun so just sit back & enjoy the ride! They don’t have anything to prove because their unique loyal fanbase will back them up 500%. Think about it, if this song were sung by someone else, would you have the same opinion? Please let go of the outdated backlash.
