Madonna, U2, Shakira, and Jay-Z have all taken the plunge. Now it's Nickelback's turn. The Canadian group have signed a contract with concert promoter Live Nation for recording, touring, and merchandising that will ultimately pay the band in the range of $50-70 million according to reports. The deal with Live Nation involves 3 albums and 3 tours for the group. However, Nickelback must still deliver 2 studio albums and a greatest hits set to their current label Roadrunner Records before delivering product to Live Nation.

Nickelback's last album All the Right Reasons sold 10 million copies worldwide. Although the numbers are impreseive, it is is still no assurance that the band's sales will remain in the stratosphere through 2 more releases and a greatest his package. However, the loss of Nickelback is certainly a blow to Warner Brothers, parent of Nickelback's current label Roadrunner.
