Peace One Day in New York Will Feature Annie Lennox, Natasha Bedingfield, and Bryan Adams

The Peace One Day campaign will host a concert celebrating Peace Day 2008 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City. The event will take place on September 9, 2008 and feature Annie Lennox, Natasha Bedingfield, and Bryan Adams. As a direct result of Peace One Day's efforts last year 1.4 million children in Afghanistan were vacinated against polio.

Peace One Day was formed in 1999 by Jeremy Gilley. As a result of the group's efforts, every member of the United Nations recognizes September 21 as an annual day of global cease-fire and non-violence. A new documentary The Day After Peace depicts the 10 year effort to bring about a global day dedicated to peace.
