2008 American Music Awards Wrap-Up - Beyonce Steals the Show

Oh, were there awards being given out? After watching Beyonce and her dancers tear up the stage with "Single Ladies" it was kind of hard to pay attention to the mere sideshow of the awards around her. Is she what Kanye West was talking about when he talked about new generations of musicians being better than what came before and then said he wanted to be Elvis?
Yes, there were awards given out as well and Chris Brown walked off with the coveted Artist of the Year award. Top nominee Alicia Keys was lauded for Top R&B and Top Pop/Rock album for As I Am. A list of key winners is below.

Lets just face it: Aretha, Tina Turner, Barbara Steinsand nor Diana Ross was doing what Beyonce is doing. Aretha is just known for soul. Tina for rock and roll, Barbara for theatric/movies performances, Diana for pop/solo girl group…and hell then there’s Beyonce known for them all and then more: rock&roll, soul, hip/hop, pop, theatric, movies…she is a model, dancer, and entertainer. Yep that whats Kanye meant. Beyonce is pretty much better.

WHAT OTHER ARTIST OUT RIGHT NOW THAT CAN COMBINE VOCALS, DANCING, PERFORMANCES, STAGE PRECENCE AND CHARISMA THE WAY THE REIGNING QUEEN OF POP AND R&B CAN? IF YOU COMBINED BARBARA S, TINA T, WHITNEY H, ANITA B, DIANA R, JANET J AND MADONNA. YOU WOULD COME UP WITH BEYONCE. BEYONCE REPRESENTS THE BEST OF ALL WORLD’S. SHE IS PROLIFIC, DYNAMITE, GROUNDBREAKING, TRENDSETTING, INFLUENTIAL AND CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED. THERE IS A REASON WHY THERE IS SO MUCH HYPE ABOUT BEYONCE. NY TIMES SAYS SHE IS THE WOMAN WITH “EVERYTHING” AND THEY ARE CORRECT. AFTER 12 YEARS IN THE BIZ, SHE IS STIL LAT THE TOP OF THE POP CHARTS AND IS STILL THE BIGGEST STAR IN THE WORLD. I OFTEN WONDER WHY SHE IS COMPARED WITH RIHANNA WHO I LOVE DEARLY BUT APART FROM BEING INFLUENCED BY BEYONCE (OR APART FROM COPYING HER IN 2005 AND 2006), SHE CANNOT DANCE, SING OR PERFORM BUT IS BEAUTIFUL AND FASHIONABLE WITH HIT PRODUCERS TO MAKE HIT SONGS FOR HER. BEYONCE IS IN A LEAGUE OF HER OWN. IT IS TIME WE REALIZE THAT.

Beyonce is a gifted woman who shares her talents with the world.
Beyonce can do it all, and she’s has reached the legendary status of performers like Michael Jackson, Prince, Tina Turner and Madonna.
Beyonce is simply the best of her generation of artists.
AM HAPPY THAT MY BOY CHRIS BROWN GET THE MALE AWARD OF THE YEAR AND THE ARTIST OF THE YEAR.
