Bruces Springsteen Takes Home Golden Globe for "The Wrestler"

Monday January 12, 2009

Last night at the Golden Globe Awards, for the second time in his long, illustrious career, Bruce Springsteen went home with an award for the Best Song from a Motion Picture. This year it's for "The Wrestler" from the poignant film of the same name that stars Mickey Rourke who also took home the award for Best Actor in a Drama. The last time Bruce Springsteen won a Golden Globe it was for "Streets of Philadelphia" from Philadelphia. He went on to win the Academy Award as well.

The award accolades helped "Streets of Philadelphia" go on to be a top 10 pop hit. It's possible that high profile exposure could do the same for "The Wrestler." Springsteen's last 2 top 40 pop hits have been key songs on movie soundtracks. They are "Streets of Philadelphia" and 1997's "Secret Garden" which became a hit after inclusion in the soundtrack for Jerry Maguire. Check out Bruce Springsteen's big movie songs below.
