Kelly Clarkson Buzz Grows Louder for "My Life Would Suck Without You"

It looks now like this Friday, January 16, 2009, will be official Kelly Clarkson day in the pop music world. That's the day her new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" goes to pop radio. The album All I Ever Wanted will be following in 2 months hitting stores March 17, 2009.

The early word on the single is overwhelmingly positive, and I'll add to the chorus. Check out this 31-second clip:

Kelly Clarkson has been working with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder on the album, and he mentioned in an interview that the band Garbage are a significant influence. Their biggest pop hit is "Stupid Girl." Back in December Rolling Stone gushed that songs from the new album were "totally awesome."

Clarkson's last album My December was an artistic triumph but a significant commercial disappointment. In its wake, she headed off on tour with country star Reba McEntire and dabbled in country music herself. However, the new album is expected be a full bore return to potent pop music. Kelly Clarkson has released 8 top 10 pop singles and sold in the range of 9 million albums in the US since becoming the first American Idol champion.
