Keri Hilson Covering Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone"

Thursday April 2, 2009

Keri Hilson singing Kelly Clarkson's huge hit "Since U Been Gone" was a staple of concerts on Justin Timberlake's FutureSex / LoveSounds tour back in 2007. However, now it looks like there could be a studio version on the way. If you haven't heard Keri Hilson perform "Since U Been Gone," you are in for a treat. Check out the leak from earlier this week below. It's only about 80 seconds, but that's more than enough to realize what a great cover this is.

I just listened and i really dont find it to be a great cover. Kelly tore that song up. keri doesn’t have half the range, power or voice to fill that type of a song. She should not release this as a single.

Way to ruin a great song. Kelly kills this by a long shot. This song is meant for pop/rock not r&b. This is a good example of what the song would have sounded like if Hilary Duff’s people didn’t pass on it and gave it to Hilary. Thank goodness they passed on it and it ended up in Kelly’s hands and she suggested to Max and Luke that it needed a more guitar sound and more drums.

Not a very good version at all. I would be surprised if they agreed on making this a single.
