It is hard to imagine there was a dry eye in the house as pop legend in her own right Janet Jackson paid tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson. The awards show itself paid tribute to Michael Jackson in a variety of ways. New Edition opened the show by performing a medley of Jackson 5 hits. Host Jamie Foxx turned in his version of the dance moves from the "Beat It" video. Ciara performed "Heal the World" and the tributes continued.
However, easily the most moving tribute of the night came from Janet Jackson speaking on behalf of the entire Jackson family.
