Alexandra Burke Aims for International Success on "Bad Boys"

Follow me on:

Last year's X Factor winner Alexandra Burke is distinguishing herself from the show's most successful victor Leona Lewis right from the start on "Bad Boys," the first single from her upcoming debut album. Moving beyond the ballad material that won her the victory on X Factor, Alexandra Burke's "Bad Boys" is uptempo and features the hottest pop-rapper of the moment Flo Rida. The song debuted earlier today on BBC Radio 1. The official release of the song in the UK is October 12, 2009. Big international success seems a real possibility as Burke steps into the battle for R&B-pop diva crown. I don't know if it's just me but in the sound of her voice I catch memories of the great Donna Summer.

Peter, her name’s Alexandra in case you forgot. So many Leona fans around the net are posting negative comments about this song – Leona would be so proud of you all.

I didn’t say anything about Alex’s song. I just don’t think she’s as talented as Leona.

Everybody has an opinion.

Peter – So you’re admitting to not even judging this song on its own merits, but comparing her talents to Leona? That’s so backwards to me. If you don’t like the song, you don’t like the song, but the constant comparisons to Leona are tired.
