Cheryl Cole Racks Up Top First Day Sales of 2009 With "Fight For This Love"

The judge and mentor is showing X Factor contestants how it's done. A week after last year's X Factor champion Alexandra Burke stormed to #1 with the best first week sales for a single yet this year in the UK, judge and mentor Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud steps forward with her own single. "Fight for This Love" is Cole's debut solo single and it hit the stores in the UK this week. The first day sales exceeded 130,000 easily topping Alexandra Burke's first day take of just short of 90,000. If sales hold up well at all during the week, Cheryl Cole should easily top Burke's figure last week of 187,000 for her hit "Bad Boys." Certainly her ongoing presence on the hit show X Factor as well as a live performance has not hurt Cheryl Cole's sales. The full length album 3 Words hits stores next week.
