Just a day after the release of Rihanna's new single "Russian Roulette," her former boyfriend Chris Brown has released the song "Crawl," the second single from his upcoming album Graffiti. Just a casual listen would seem to indicate both songs may be related to the couple's relationship that ended early this year with a domestic assault. While Rihanna took a very dark route in exploring the violence, Chris Brown's approach seems lighter and hoping for the possibility of beginning the relationship again. A judge has issued an order to keep the couple physically apart for five years. However, that does not necessarily prevent a relationship at a distance.
Both artists are looking at new albums in stores later this fall, and the early release of singles is normal practice in promoting the upcoming full-length release. Rihanna's Rated R album is expected in stores November 23, 2009. Chris Brown's Graffiti will be available December 15, 2009.
