Michael Jackson's This Is It Movie Premiere Brings Out the Stars

The world premieres of the film Michael Jackson's This Is It began tonight anchored with a 6 p.m. Pacific time showing at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre. London was also hosting a time synchronized premiere at Leicester Square 1 a.m. UK time. By the end of the day Wednesday, the film is expected to premiere in 99 countries. The movie's soundtrack album hit music stores earlier today.

The Los Angeles premiere of the film brought out a wide range of celebrities among the 5,000 invited guests. From Will Smith to Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton, the stars were out in full force to see Michael Jackson's This Is It. American Idol royalty were well represented as seen above left and at right. Prior to the premiere, no film critics had been shown the movie. It was screened for family members and a few friends. The most publicized response was that of Elizabeth Taylor. The legendary actress said that she, "wept from pure joy at his God-given gift." The theatrical engagements begin tomorrow, and fans will have two weeks to see the concert documentary.
