Ke$ha is one of the hottest new artists of late 2009. She also has a somewhat unorthodox independent streak that is earning her devoted new fans. The debut single "Tik Tok" is in the top 3 in the US and has already hit the top of the pop singles chart in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Her debut album Animal is due in stores January 5, 2010. The cover for the album is out now at right. 22 year old Kesha Sebert recently told Esquire magazine about her process of songwriting. "I'll usually go out, have one f**king insane night, come home half-drunk, stumbling, and write down a few words. The next morning I'll wake up and be like, Whoa, this story needs to be told." Producer and songwriter Lukasz Gottwald, aka Dr. Luke, has been a primary guide to Ke$ha's emergence as one of the newest pop stars. She will be one of the most closely watched pop artists of the new year.
