Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream Smashes Single Week Album Sales Record in Australia

Susan Boyle truly is a global star. While much attention has been focused on her sales achievements in both the US and the UK, she is smashing records in other countries, too. This past week Susan Boyle achieved the highest single week sales for any album since ARIA began keeping electronically scanned sales data back in 1997. She sold 164,000 copies of the album during Christmas week. She not only set the single week record, Susan Boyle became the first artist to sell more than 100,000 copies of an album in two consecutive weeks. 70,000 copies are required for platinum status in Australia. I Dreamed a Dream has been certified eight times platinum since its release.
