Provo, Utah's Neon Trees are breaking quickly with their catchy, poppy single "Animal." It is resting comfortably at #35 on the modern rock chart while the group is on the verge of breaking into the pop mainstream. The band began to gain national exposure when they were chosen to open on tour for the Killers. A major label record deal with Mercury followed in early 2009 and now the group's debut album Habits is set to hit stores next week March 16, 2010.
The sound of Neon Trees could be described as new wave influenced pop with a side helping of classic rock sounds. Lead vocalist Tyler Glenn claims Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson as primary influences. The sound will please a wide rang of pop and rock fans. Soon the rest of the pop music world will know Provo, Utah's pop-rock secret of recent years.
