FIFA has announced that the Black Eyed Peas (at right) and Alicia Keys will be among the headliners for the concert that will kick off festivities for the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa. The concert will take place June 10, 2010, and the soccer matches will begin the following day. Shakira and John Legend are also among the top acts performing. African artists including South African rock bands BLK JKS and The Parlotones as well as Malian acts Amadou and Mariam and Tinariwen will also hit the stage. This is the first time in the 80 year history of the World Cup that it will be held in Africa.
