Some might think that a #2 pop single and loads of publicity in the press might guarantee a recording contract through at least a first album. However, if you are John and Edward Grimes, aka Jedward, polarizing contestants on last year's X Factor, that isn't the case. The British press is reporting that, despite the duo's debut single "Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)" hitting #2 on the charts, Jedward have been dropped from their recording contract with Sony. The song did drop out of the top 10 after just one week, and the questions about the true quality of the voices of the twins are valid. Manger Louis Walsh says that he is still strongly backing the pair. They are expected to tour their homeland of Ireland later in the spring and demonstrate a strong fan following. Is this the end for Jedward on the world's mainstage? Stay tuned.
