Back in February, rapper and music executive Jay-Z was heard saying that he thought British boy band JLS could be as big as *NSYNC. We may soon find out just how much power Jay-Z has to break a new pop artist in the US. Earlier this week Rihanna told reporters that she was set to record with JLS and Jay-Z was the executive behind the project. She also went on to say that Beyonce, Jay-Z's wife, and Kanye West, originally a Jay-Z protege, would almost certainly follow her lead and work with JLS.
JLS were first introduced to the world as the runners up on the show X Factor in 2008. They have since topped the album chart in the UK and released two #1 pop singles, "Beat Again" and "Everbody In Love." JLS were also winners of two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough and British Single ("Beat Again"). They are the first former X Factor contestants to win any Brit Awards. The song "Everybody In Love" has gone to pop radio here in the US. Check out the video below and decide for yourself if Jay-Z is right.
