Midweek chart information from the UK indicates that Diana Vickers is likely to debut at the top of the pop singles chart with her debut release "Once." For US pop fans, who is Diana Vickers? She first entered the pop culture spotlight in the UK as a 2008 semi-finalist in the talent competition show X Factor. She was known for unconventional performances and Simon Cowell stated that audiences would either love or hate her.
It's been nearly a year and a half since Diana Vickers competed on X Factor and her first single "Once" is now out. It precedes the full-length album Songs From the Tainted Cherry Tree due in stores in the UK May 3, 2010. Between X Factor and her first recordings, Diana Vickers drew praise with her acting debut in the West End revival of the show The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. "Once" was written by veteran pop songwriters Cathy Dennis ("Toxic") and Eg White ("Chasing Pavements"). The voice is as unique as ever and the song is a potent electronic pop-rock anthem. Check out Diana Vickers below. She is clearly an artist to watch.
