The dance competition So you Think You Can Dance may have introduced us to a new pop star. Last week dancers Billy Bell and Kathryn McCormick performed to the song "Jar of Hearts" by unsigned singer-songwriter Christina Perri. The result created such a buzz that the song remains in the top 20 on iTunes more than a week later. Christina Perri's MySpace page says she has "the voice of a oversized black woman in the body of a skinny, tattoo covered, hopeless romantic."
Christina Perri has music business success running in her family. Her older brother Nick is a former lead guitarist for the band Shinedown. "Jar of Hearts" was written last December. It now looks assured of being Christina Perri's introduction to the pop top 40.
