21 year old Auburn Williams is already being referred to as the "Princess of Beluga Heights." That is because she is looking like the first successful female singer on the pop charts signed to the Warner Bros. subsidiary. She is following in the footsteps of Sean Kingston, Jason Derulo, and Iyaz. In fact her first single "La La La" features Iyaz. "La La La" debuted this last week at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was produced by Beluga Heights co-founder J. R. Rotem.
Auburn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and grew up with her single mother. She began singing in church and was raised on gospel music. Auburn had her first studio experience at the age of nine with her cousin J. Isaac. At the age of 13 Auburn was part of a local girl group called Loyal. In 2007 her first album Same Girl was released independently by a label based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Auburn went on tour as an opener for Keyshia Cole. In late 2007 she received a call from Beluga Heights, and she became the first female singer signed to the label. "La La La" is her first single for Beluga Heights.
