Taylor Swift Calls Out the Haters On "Mean"

By October 19, 2010

Follow me on:

It sounds like Taylor Swift finally has her answer to those who criticized her win at the 2010 Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

"Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things,
Drunk and grumbling on about how I can't sing.
But all you are is mean,
All you are is mean.
And a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life,
And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean."

The song can also easily serve as a general purpose response to bullies in the world. "Mean" is available today on iTunes and has promptly topped the sales chart once again. The album Speak Now hits stores next Monday, October 25, 2010. Interestingly, the last promo single "Back To December" headed in a bit of a rock direction musically. Now "Mean" is one of the most overtly country sounding of all of Taylor Swift's recordings with clear banjo leading the way. Check it out below.
