Jessica Simpson Releases "My Only Wish" Christmas Single Echoing...Mariah Carey?

Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is the most successful new Christmas song of the past 20 years. It seems logical to examine it for clues to what can make an original Christmas tune a hit. However, it seems Jessica Simpson's new single "My Only Wish" is following the blueprint rather closely. The new song is fun and light and frothy, but it all sounds very, very familiar. The subject matter is extremely close to Mariah Carey's hit as well. Check out the links below and make your own comparisons. I just suggest that radio programmers separate these two a bit on the playlist. Otherwise listeners are likely to experience deja vu.
