The wait for Britney Spears' first single from her upcoming seventh studio album is over. "Hold It Against Me" has been pushed out to radio and online early. We thought we would have to wait until tonight to hear the new hot hit. On first listen, this is one of the most mature dance pop creations of her career thus far. The opening verse and chorus structure is catchy and then the bridge takes off in electropop glory. The pop music of 2011 has an early shot in the arm here. Whether or not "Hold It Against Me" follows "Womanizer" and "3" to #1 on the pop singles chart, it will quickly take its place among Britney Spears' best singles. Check the song out below.

I just listened to her new song. It’s pretty good. I’d give it 4 stars out of 5. It’s also less slutty than some of her recent hits, although lyrics like these don’t exactly seem to be G-rated:
“Gimme something good
Don’t wanna wait I want It now (na-na-now)
Pop It like a hood
And show me how you work It out.”
I don’t think it’s #1 material, but then again, most of the songs that hit the top aren’t either. It’s certainly better than her inane “Womanizer.” Overall, the song is definitely competent, but I’ll definitely be glad when the pop music world moves on from Britney Spears.
Awesome song.. cant stop listening to it. Believe what you want about Britney Spears, but she knows the right producers to work with and she knows what her fans like. Go Brit!!!! Another #1 for sure!!!
