Kreayshawn is a 21 year old visual artist who first gained acclaim directing music videos. Now, due to the runaway viral success of her song "Gucci Gucci," she has a recording contract from Columbia Records and is working on her first album.
The "Gucci Gucci" music video was uploaded to YouTube less than a month ago. It gained 200,000 views in just 48 hours. By the end of the first two weeks that number stood at two million. Clearly, Kreayshawn has found a sweet spot. It's not just the song but the visuals of Kreayshawn and her sidekick DJ L1L D3BB13 cavorting on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills that hook new fans. The single "Gucci Gucci" is released to digital retailers next week on June 14, 2011.
Jot down the name Kreayshawn. This just might be the arrival of a new major artist, both visual and musical.
