Shania Twain, one of the biggest country pop crossover artists of all time has returned with her first new music in six years. The song "Today Is Your Day" was released to country radio today, but it essentially is an uplifting pop anthem with a bit of banjo mixed in. Think Colbie Caillat singing about inspiration with a big production, and you will have a good idea what Shania Twain's new song sounds like. "Today Is Your Day" should have no problem conquering adult pop radio, and the smart mainstream pop programmer would be wise to give it a chance as well. The overall feel of the record is quite refreshing. Shania Twain wrote the song herself and co-produced it with Nathan Chapman, Taylor Swift's studio collaborator. For those who may not remember, Shania Twain has three albums that have all sold in excess of 10 million copies. She also has nine top 40 pop singles to her credit. Good luck finding "Today Is Your Day" streaming on the web. Mercury Nashville has been quite successful pulling it down as soon as it is posted. Instead, just head on over to iTunes and buy it. The song is already #35 on the sales chart there.
