LMFAO Takes Over On iTunes With "Party Rock Anthem"

By June 27, 2011

It's not Katy Perry, and it's not The Voice mentors. LMFAO are proving the summer of 2011 is indeed a party summer as their hit "Party Rock Anthem" lands at the top of the iTunes sales chart. They are also currently at #7 on pop radio and surging. The song has already gone to #1 in at least 10 different countries around the world. So much for self-conscious art on the charts. LMFAO are an uncle and his nephew who also happen to be son and grandson of Motown Records founder Berry Gordy. The pair had reached the pop top 40 in the US twice before as a featured act, but this is their first pop top 40 as lead act, and it is proving to be one of the biggest pop hits of the year around the world.

I think that this is a fantastic song. There are very few songs I enjoy the very first time I hear them. This was one of them. My guess is it will for sure reach the top spot on the pop chart. Currently #3 on Billboard hot 100.
