Well, it seems that Cher's massive farewell concert tour from 2002 through 2005 wasn't really a farewell to touring after all. Last year the pop music icon completed a nearly three year residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Now it seems, at the age of 65, Cher is itching to get back on the road. She already has plans to release her first studio album since 2001's Living Proof later this year. Cher says it will be dance music, and it includes a duet with Lady Gaga titled "The Greatest Thing." She has tweeted that she has seen the sets for the tour, and it will kick off in September in Kansas.
When the song "You Haven't Seen the Last Of Me" from the movie Burlesque hit #1 on the dance chart in early 2011, Cher became the first artist to have a #1 hit on at least one Billboard chart in each of the last six decades. She has sold over 20 million albums in the US, and she has hit the Billboard Hot 100 with 33 singles as a solo artist.
