At the tender age of 17, Sweden's Amanda Mair is still too young to play live without her parents present. However, there is a beautiful pop maturity to the sound of her songs that goes well beyond her young years. The self-titled debut album was just released in Sweden last week. Labrador will release it in the US June 5, 2012. Produced by Philip Ekstrom of the Mary Onettes, the songs have a big atmospheric sound that may remind some listeners of critically acclaimed Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li.
Check out the video for the song "Sense" below. It has an infectious bounce with a series of sometimes serious, sometimes humorous handheld signs. One question is why was she forced to stand outside so often while being filmed? It looks cold out there! Check out Amanda Mair below as her star begins to rise.
