Wallpaper's Ricky Reed describes himself as "sleazy and excess-obsessed." He has emerged out of Oakland, California to become one of the hottest new kings of party music. Now with a major label contract on Epic his songs are bursting into the pop mainstream. "F**king Best Song Everrr" is leading the charge into the pop top 40. Ricky Reed lists P-funk, Afrobeat, and "maybe even Prince" among his inspirations.
Ricky Reed, born Eric Frederic, first began making music as Wallpaper in 2005. Today Wallpaper functions as a five person group. "#STUPiDFACEDD" was the song that first gained national notice in early 2011, and now it looks like "F**king Best Song Ever" is on the verge of being a major hit. Wallpaper showcased their music on stage earlier this month at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. With the power of a major label behind them it looks like Wallpaper's moment in the spotlight is about to begin.
