Adam Lambert's "Never Close Our Eyes" Boosts the Tempo

Adam Lambert's first single from the upcoming Trespassing album, "Better Than I Know Myself," had a disappointing chart run peaking at #76 on the Billboard Hot 100. The overall feel was downbeat and never seemed to catch on. Now, in a distinct change of pace, the next single is the uptempo dance jam "Never Close Our Eyes." It is once again produced by Dr. Luke. The songwriters for "Never Close Our Eyes" are Bruno Mars' hitmaking team The Smeezingtons. "Never Close Our Eyes" will be available for digital purchase next week on April 17, 2012. The album Trespassing is now set to hit stores May 15, 2012. Listen to "Never Close Our Eyes" below and let us know your opinion. Is this one a hit for Adam Lambert?

It’s amazing. Driving, dancy, crunchy and different from other crap playing on top40, but solidly pop. Infectious ear candy! While production is prominent, his voice prevails.

BTIKM was released to counteract an album of Lambert’s pre-Idol work that was being sold as his new album. As he said, “It caused me a lot of trouble.” In addition, he was not available to do promo for BTIKM until this March. After he did promo it began to rise, but it was too late.

NCOE is much more representative of his legit album, “Trespassing.” It is definitely a strong pop track and is receiving extremely good reviews. But, as one who has heard many snippets of the other tracks on the album, I can tell you that there are those even better than NCOE.

This is an extremely strong – and I think brilliantly sung and produced – album. Those who have heard it both here and in the U.K. are extremely enthusiastic about it. His voice is the finest in pop music today and his interpretations of the songs here – both uptempo and down – are outstanding. “Trespassing” deserves to go up the charts when released on May 15.
