Gotye's lengthy reign at the top of the iTunes digital sales chart has come to an end, and it is Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen who has taken over with the ultra-catchy "Call Me Maybe." The song hit #1 in Canada back in the fall of 2011. It is currently holding at #4 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 but could certainly climb higher. Meanwhile, "Call Me Maybe" has become a massive hit internationally. It has hit #1 on the pop singles chart in at least 8 different countries including the UK. "Call Me Maybe" received a big boost in the US when Justin Bieber and friends put together an unofficial music video to promote the song. If "Call Me Maybe" goes on to top the Hot 100 Carly Rae Jepsen will have accomplished a feat her benefactor has yet to reach. Justin Bieber is still waiting for his first #1 song.
