Fiona Apple's single "Every Single Night" is uncomfortable as it delves into what goes on in the singer's head. However, the startling intimacy engages listeners and may reveal more than a few commonalities between the singer-songwriter and her fans. Now she has released an equally beguiling music video. Avant garde filmmaker Joseph Cahill directed the clip. Among the imagery are a hat made out of an octopus and then a giant octopus, Fiona Apple seemingly attached by wires to something out of the frame and lying in the dirt with snails crawling over her, as well as tossing fish to an alligator.
"Every Single Night" is the first single from the upcoming album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do due in stores next week on June 19, 2012. Fans may also preview the album now through streaming at NPR. This is Fiona Apple's first new studio album in over six years.
