Canada's Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the hottest new breakout pop artists in the US this year, but she hasn't yet delivered a full album of songs. Her debut Canadian full-length album Tug Of War appeared back in 2008, but it did not receive a US release. Carly Rae Jepsen's sound has evolved from her neo folkie beginnings toward the mainstream pop of her #1 smash hit "Call Me Maybe."
Carly Rae Jepsen says the album, titled Kiss, is pop and shows influence from Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and James Taylor. Among the collaborators on the album are Max Martin, LMFAO's Redfoo, and Marianas Trench lead vocalist Josh Ramsay who produced "Call Me Maybe." Kiss will hit stores September 18, 2012. Carly Rae Jepsen then hits the road on tour with Justin Bieber beginning September 29, 2012.
